Live Art Society Open Call: AUTUMN RESIDENCY
Live Art Society facilitates an Open Call for November 2020.
We are looking for performances, topics, practises, processes and suggestions, that artist(s) feel right now inspiring and important. No limitations on form or technique, suggestion can be anything from art work’s workshop period to installation sketch, and from practising matrix to making a performance. All fields of art are included, but suggestions are expected to include some kind of performative aspect.
Residency is a working space-residency. We offer the selected artist a free-of-charge working space (Studio 4, 60m2, from Esitystaiteen keskus (Eskus), Suvilahti, Helsinki). The space is equipped with a basic sound system. The applicant can be an individual artist or a group. Residency includes an easy-going artist talk organized by Live Art Society before the working period and an informal sharing (demonstration/ open rehearsal/ discussion/ lecture/ other) at the end of the residency period.
Residency time is two or four weeks (Mon-Fri) between 2.11. – 27.11.2020. We can offer a place for 1-3 groups/suggestions. You can apply by filling up the FORM and sending attachments to our address firstname.lastname@example.org with a topic AUTUMN RESIDENCY/”project name” latest by Friday 29.05.2020.
We kindly ask you to add in the following information:
*A short description of the project/piece + aims for the project (max 1 A4)
*A short reflection / thoughts about how the project could work as part of Live Art Society’s / Eskus’s community. What kind of reciprocity it suggests, what it offers and what kind of needs or wishes you have for the working period?
You can apply for the residency even though you are not a member of Live Art Society. Chosen artist(s) are obliged to join the Society before receiving the residency-place. The board of the Society choses each year a team of board members that are responsible for organizing the Open Call for Autumn residency. This year the team consists of Heli Keskikallio and Linda Martikainen. The team goes through the applications and makes a suggestion to the rest of the board members. The board makes the final decision together with the team. The applicants will be informed about the selections the latest on Monday 15.6.2020.
